The European Commission has released draft versions of the Horizon 2020 Work Programmes for 2016 and 2017. The official adoption and the publication of the Work Programmes are expected in mid-October 2015.

The BIO-MIMETIC project is generating a new class of novel bio-derived polymers for application in household products via extraction of natural compounds from renewable resources. BIO-MIMETIC is now in the third year of activities, several results have obtained: Lignin has been extracted from a range of plant sources, enzymes transforming lignin for use in consumer products have been expressed and computer simulations aimed to study lignin derivatives in solution have been carried out.
