Project objectives:
BLUE aims to foster interregional cooperation in the development and commercialisation of sustainable marine biomass-derived products, driving innovation and value creation in key blue economy sectors. The project will focus on implementing advanced biorefinery techniques to valorise underutilised marine biomass (crustacean residues), transforming them into high-value ingredients for the food industry. Through the Smart Specialisation approach, BLUE will integrate regional strengths to scale innovative, market-ready solutions while promoting sustainable economic growth in Europe’s maritime regions.
