LEADS aims to accelerate the path towards the European Union’s target of becoming the first carbon-neutral continent by 2050, in line with the Green Deal, ‘Fit for 55’ and 2030 Climate Target Plan. The challenge will be tackled by creating a pipeline of Carbon Capture Use and Storage (CCUS) projects and supporting them to mature to full scale, using results from previously EU-funded projects (notably Horizon 2020) and, as such, unlocking the carbon reduction potential that is embedded in H2020-supported Research & Development results.
In March, the LEADS consortium met at Avantium’s headquarters in Amsterdam.
On Day 1, CIAOTECH - the project coordinator - and the representatives of all the consortium partners gathered discussed the state of the art of the LEADS' Work Packages, exchanging insights on the latest advancements in sustainable process technologies.
On Day 2, the LEADS team moved to TNO’s Petten site, where the discussions took a strategic turn, exploring opportunities support the Innovation Fund applications, looking at ways to scale up and accelerate impact. Seeing the potential for real-world implementation was truly inspiring!
A huge thanks to Avantium and TNO for hosting the meeting, and to all partners for their dedication!
Together, we are bridging the innovation gap in Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU), paving the way for a more sustainable future.
