PNO is a partner of the SPINE project (Smart Public Transport Initiatives for Climate-Neutral Cities in Europe) that is of the European Commissions’s large scale Missions projects and that kicked off on the 1^st of January 2023.

With this project PNO will support the acceleration of the progress towards climate neutrality by reinforcing public transport systems through their smart integration with new mobility services, sharing schemes, active transport modes, and micromobility. A network of collaborative urban Living Labs is developed, including four leading demonstrations in Antwerp, Bologna, Tallin, and Las Palmas.

Also a series of co-creation activities will take place where multiple stakeholders will be actively engaged in the development and demonstration of efficient, replicable, and socially acceptable innovative mobility solutions, thereby advancing existing assets.

Data-driven impact assessment models will foster the twinning, transferability and adaptation of the successful solutions of the four Livings Labs in seven Twining Cities: Barreiro, Valladolid, Zilina, Sibenik, Hrakleion, Gdynia and Rouen. SPIRE sets a high ambitious plan for the co-design and implementation of 55 smart greens inclusive mobility solutions.
