The ICARUS project (Project 101138646) commenced with its kick-off meeting in Madrid on January 23rd and 24th. The launch session took place at the headquarters of ACCIONA Construcción, the project coordinator. ICARUS is a pioneering initiative funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe Program. Its primary objective is to revolutionize the research and demonstration of innovative technologies capable of recycling waste materials from diverse industries. By repurposing these materials in the construction sector, ICARUS aims to foster circularity and sustainability in industrial processes.

The ICARUS consortium comprises 18 beneficiaries from seven EU countries. ACCIONA Construcción leads the project, with PNO Portugal assuming responsibility for result exploitation and business model development.
