The REE4EU's high temperature electrolysis (HTE) pilot unit is successfully in continuous operation. This will be the first milestone towards the future industrial production of rare earth alloys in Europe, thus being able to really close the loop in permanent magnets' recycling. The REE4EU's technology has now been demonstrated at pre-industrial scale using permanent magnet (PM) wastes. As per today, enough waste material (in-process waste and end-of-life magnets) has been treated to get almost the amount of rare earth alloy (REA) needed to run a 600 kg batch of strip cast rare earth master alloy (REMA) at the premises of partner LCM. The whole consortium is very satisfied with the results obtained!
