We kick off 2024 with exceptional news: the Northern Lights Phase 2 project, supported by CiaoTech - PNO Group, has been selected to receive funding from the CEF-Energy Program, with a total grant of €131 million!
The project aims to expand the CO2 storage capacity of the Northern Lights initiative from 1.5 to over 5 Mtpa. It includes the expansion of the CO2 import terminal in Øygarden, Norway, and the construction of a 100 km offshore pipeline to the storage site on the Norwegian continental shelf.
PNO supported Northern Lights in submitting proposals to secure funding first for CEF-E studies (2022, €4.2 million) and then for CEF-E Works (2023, €131 million).
